This Summer 2025 release is a collaboration between Field Notes, acclaimed author Robert Macfarlane, and renowned visual artist Stanley Donwood. Inspired by Macfarlane's latest book, Is a River Alive?, which chronicles three epic journeys exploring the state of Earth's rivers and the people fighting for them, this edition captures the essence of flowing water and the stories it carries.

Each 3-Pack of memo books features covers adorned with Donwood's mesmerizing linocut artwork titled “Meander.” These covers are printed and embossed on Sappi McCoy 100#C Silk stock, enhanced with matte, gloss, and reticulated U.V. varnishes, providing a tactile experience that mirrors the undulating paths of rivers. Two of the memo books replicate the U.S.A. and U.K. hardcover editions of Macfarlane's book, while the third showcases the original linocut itself.
